“It is very important for me to stay true to my personal aesthetic by creating classic, modern spaces in which to live.”

Iris chooses serene, neutral palettes to be highlighted with unique artwork and eclectic accessories that represent her many travels throughout Europe and South America. While the overall feel of the design is sophisticated, the vision is a living space that is both functional and comfortable, and very much a place you would be happy to celebrate every day of the year.

Iris graduated from Carnegie Mellon University in 1978 with a bachelor’s degree in Fine Arts (BFA). She soon joined Federated Department Stores where she worked in the advertising department at Lord & Taylor’s flagship store on Fifth Avenue in New York City. She rose to the position as an Art Director and remained there for thirteen years. She then founded her own interior design firm Iris Designs which has since evolved into ID Creations by Iris Dankner.

Iris resides in Manhattan and Southampton, New York and currently divides her time between her residential interior design work and various activities on behalf of breast cancer, her largest endeavor being her own interior design showhouse, Holiday House.
